Hunting

Welcome to Wyoming Hunting!
We offer traditional horseback hunts from four different base camps in the Bridger Teton Natl Forest, two are drive in camps and two are pack in camps. In 2007 we purchased Wolf Lake Outfitters and this has turned out to be a great benefit to our hunting clients. If you the miximum number of preference points or no points at all we can now take you on the Elk hunt of your dreams. We average between 75 and 90% success on our elk hunts. All hunts include experienced guides, gentle mountain horses, home cooked meals and well tent lodging.
ELK - Several elk feed grounds in the area benefit the local herd, which is one of the best populations in Wyoming. We take numerous bulls every year that exceed 300 B&C points. We specialize in limited entry trophy bull elk hunting with 4 base camps for you to choose from, 2 drive-in camp and 2 pack-in camp, with the ability to do overnight spike camps if the need arises. This is the only district on the Bridger Teton where Wyoming outfitters are allowed to stay away from our base camps at all during hunting season. Archery season is September 1st through September 30th; Rifle season is September 20 through November 5th . Check out the photo gallery from 2009 where we were 90% success on our elk hunts and 100% on our moose hunts

Antelope - In winter it's not uncommon to see a couple thousand antelope herded together in our horse pasture. In hunting season be prepared to see 300 to 500 antelope per day with a lot of bucks over 15 inches and one of the highest buck to doe ratios in Wyoming. Ask us about out private land antelope hunts. Season runs September 10th through October 31st.
Mule deer - Hunt the largest mule deer migration in western Wyoming. We see a lot of trophy mule deer over 25 inches and some going over the 30 inch mark. Ask about our private land mule deer hunting. The season runs from October 1st through October 21st
Moose - The world record shiras moose was taken in Area 5 which is where 2 of our 4 camps are located. We start scouting for your moose in July on our summer trips so we usually know where some good moose are hanging before you get here. We were 100% in 2008 and 2009 with the biggest bull scoring 303 SCI points
Big Horn Sheep - our areas are some of the best in state for taking quality Big Horn Sheep with a few sheep being taken every year scoring over 175 B&C points. The largest herd of Big Horn Sheep anywhere winters near Dubois Wyoming and many of this herd comes south during hunting season to our area. The season is September 1st to October 14th.
Black Bear - the hunting is done in the spring over bait with good success on color phase bears, blacks, blondes, cinnamon, and brown bears.
Mountain Lion - hunts usually take place in November through January. We have some very accomplished hounds men and you will have the time of your life when we turn the dogs loose. Our cat population is on the rise.
Hunters: You must have your applications for hunting licenses in to the Wyoming Game & Fish Department in Cheyenne between January 1st and January 31st. We prefer to hanle your application for you so have them to us no later that January 25th.
